Titles fly and legends collide at the top of Cage Titans 72 when the action continues at Plymouth
Memorial Hall on July 19 th . The flyweight title is up for grabs in the main event when Joe Poirier
gets his shot against Isaiah Torres, and the legendary match up between Joe Penafiel and
Johnny Campbell has graciously come to fruition in the co-main event slot. All of this appetized
by two long awaited amateur title fights capsizing the undercard at Cage Titans 72.
Fresh off of another first-round finish, Joe Poirier made his claim at the top of the flyweight
division and gets his first shot at professional gold as the flyweight belt has been vacated.
Already at 6-1 with 5 first-round stoppages, the championship belt only cements his case as the
next top prospect in the North East. In his way and stepping up is Isaiah Torres, 7-3 (3 KO, 1
SUB) has never been finished as a pro and has found a knack for finding the finish throughout
his career. He will be welcomed to Cage Titans at the top of the bill with all the stakes on the line
with the mission in mind to be the champion that gets the next Contender call.
Though his status as champion has changed, his status as legend remains and increases with
Joe “The Party” Penafiel answering the short notice call to fight another living legend in Mr.
Cage Titans himself, Johnny “Cupcakes” Campbell. The Party (11-7) has been known for
legendary performances all the way to the final bell, and is determined to stay fresh at the top of
the bantamweight division since being dethroned as champion. All skills will be needed when he
takes on Cupcakes (22-17) another former champion who has been around since the first ever
Cage Titans show, who is known for non-stop explosive fighting action every time he steps into
the cage. These friendly competitors are guaranteed to bring the most entertaining qualities out
of each other every moment leading up to the final bell.
Though no one has answered the call to challenge for her newly attained championship, Hilarie
Rose is determined to stay as active as possible riding her win streak when she welcomes 6-1
Nicole Geraldo to Plymouth from Mexico. Though no gold will be on the line, the ladies have
historically stolen the show and this 3-round catchweight fight will be a treat for the fans.
So many amateur title fights have been famously memorized at the Hall, and two titles are up
for grabs on July 19 th . Don’t miss the prelims as momentous Gavin O’Connell and former title
challenger Jay Curley clash for glory and gold for the vacant Welterweight belt. The undefeated
flyweights cap off the undercard as wrestling phenom defending champion Joziah “King” Fry
and knockout fiend challenger Jack “Fuckin” Barry promise fireworks to see who reigns.
